Walking in Godly Counsel

What does it look like to walk in Godly counsel? Psalm 1:1-3 states: "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked."

One has to be careful of the counsel received because it can be a blessing or a curse. It can be a blessing if it comes from one who seeks God's counsel. However, it can be a curse if it comes from the wicked. The wicked thinks, sees, and feels evil thoughts towards themselves and others.

Good Godly counsel makes one happy. Lord thank you for your precious Holy Spirit that gives us counsel daily.

The Voice translation of the Bible (Psalm 1:1 reads: " God's blessings follow you and await you at every turn." When one doesn't follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes. When one avoids sin's highway, when judgment and sarcasm beckon you, but you refuse." Walking is living out the Words heard or read. Therefore , the Holy Spirit will lead you to do the right thing and not evil.

The Word of God becomes ones compass and guide all day and every day. Psalm 1:2 states: 'For you, the Eternal Word is your happiness. It is your focus- from dusk to dawn." If one doesn't have the Word in the heart and doesn't allow the Holy Spirit to guide, then it is like traveling to a place unknown without using the GPS . It is like having GPS available but the user is refusing to use it, is lost , going in circles, and never reaching the intended destination.

When one uses Godly counsel the Voice translation noted in Psalm 1:3: "You are like a tree planted by flowing , cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun. No matter what you do, you prosper.

In conclusion, there are two ways of walking in this life. Ungodly counsel or Godly counsel. His Word is the hope of the Believer. Which will you choose?
