Don't worry Be Happy

Have you ever heard this expression, "Don't worry be happy." Well, I certainly have and I heard it from unbelievers and shallow minded Christians! Happiness is a temporary saying of the world.

The Bible says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your request known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

So when I do not worry about anything, but I enter into the presence of God with prayer, asking for His help, and with a thankful heart I am on a solid foundation. Then, the peace of God that is more than one can comprehend will protect the hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. This is the bedrock for a believer. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a bedrock as solidly, fundamental, basic or reliable. In other words a bedrock is similar to the words root, foundation, cornerstone or bottom.

As a believer we have to dig deep until we hit bedrock. That bedrock is having faith in Jesus Christ. He is a solid rock! Are you anchored in Him today?

Therefore, as a believer we can walk with Him through the storms of this life, through the ups and downs, through those things that want to make one anxious and worry, and through all situations that come in our life. However, when these things come to test our hearts and minds, God promises to protect us and support us if we believe, trust, and pray and make them known to Him!
